I've got a week's holiday, so have more time available than normal. Went down to the south coast today: Swanage / Lulworth Cove / Durdle Door.

I'm not set up for SKYPE at the moment, and haven't got a headset yet. I've just tried plugging in a mike that I had from my previous PC. With no particular applications running, the words can just about be heard from the speakers if speaking very closely. But the gain is quite low, and no feedback occurs even with the mike held against the speakers. It doesn't seem to be working with Sound Recorder at the moment. I'll try downloading SKYPE and look into it.

Another possibility would be to meet up later this week, e.g. at a service station on the M1. But travelling time would be involved.
